2025 started with a statement. The Security Edition brought a completely new format to MCR.TEST — station-based activities, a team points competition, and prizes on the line. Back at No.1 Spinningfields, hosted by MONY Group, the community gathered to tackle one of testing's toughest challenges: keeping systems safe in a world that's always changing.
Stations included lock picking (physical security in practice), OWASP Juice Shop web vulnerability challenges on laptops, threat modelling exercises matching real threats to STRIDE categories, and a social engineering challenge revealed on the night. Teams earned points across stations, with the top finishers taking home prizes.
A high-energy, hands-on format that proved MCR.TEST could look quite different when the topic called for it.
