Level Up: Career Skill Trees

What does progression actually look like in a testing career? MCR.TEST set out to answer that at Griffin House, taking inspiration from RPG skill trees to make something abstract feel tangible. Attendees started by writing down what they valued in testers at different career stages, before the group shaped those contributions into a shared skill tree — a map of behaviours, skills, and impact.

After food, the session shifted to SMART goal setting. Everyone left with something concrete: a small plan for levelling up their own practice. A collaborative, practically-focused evening with genuinely useful output that went home with the room.
