AI Demystified

After the success of the launch event, MCR.TEST returned with a theme the whole industry was wrestling with: AI. Matillion opened the doors to their impressive new space for an evening built around making AI less abstract and more actionable for testers.

The first activity, Riskstorming the Jarvis AI System, challenged attendees to apply existing testing instincts to a hypothetical AI product — demonstrating that what testers already know transfers directly to AI systems. The second, the Skynet Training Exercise, flipped the script: using AI as a tool to write tests. Pairs and small groups worked through a set of challenges using ChatGPT, then reflected on where it helped, where it produced nonsense, and what that means in practice.
